Ink
Blackened Seas is part of Van Dieman’s Midnight series, inspired by colours after dark. As you would expect, there are dark colours in this series, but there are also some surprisingly bright colours, like yellow (inspired by the moon) and orange (inspired by bonfire). About half of them are also shimmering inks.
The Blackened Seas ink has no shimmer but has lovely shading. It is a dark teal ink. I love the shading of this ink and how it gradually turns from light to dark, unlike some inks which which have clearly defined areas between the light and dark portions (for example, see Lamy Turquoise). I didn’t time it so I cannot say for sure, but it feels like the ink takes slightly longer to dry then the other inks I’ve tried. The drying time is not long enough to be a deal breaker, but long enough to notice. I LOVE this colour and I will definitely re-buy this when I finished my current supply.
