Taccia Dark Washed Jeans on Midori MD

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Dark Washed Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is a dark blue / blue-black colour with shading. When the light hits the darker areas at the right angle, there is a noticeable red sheen even in normal writing. The ink has a wet flow. The ink takes a little more effort to clean as it leaves a bit of colour residue behind. I was not able to flush it away with water and had to use a cotton bud to gently scrub it away.

Rings of colour residue left behind in the pen body

This ink colour makes me think of a bruise. But not just an ordinary bruise, but a magnificent one ranging from deep purple to a blue so dark that it looked almost black. Because of its sheening properties, I think the ink will look good in a wet nib.

Writing Sample

This is written with a TWSBI ECO-T medium nib.

Trying to take a picture of the sheen. You can see a bit in the “i” in “Cahill”.
