Ink
Michael is a dark blue ink from the Deep Dark Inks series exclusive to Cult Pens. In smaller 30ml and 12ml bottles, it is called Little Micky. It was one of the three inks launched in May 2021 that were named after Cult Pens’ three longest-serving staff. You can read more about Michael (the human being) on Cult Pens blog.
The colour is described as a deep dark ocean blue on Cult Pens website. I find the ink leans a bit purple, probably due to the sheen. On Muji paper, there is no sheen and the ink looks dark blue. This ink has a wet flow.
On Muji Planting Tree paper,
- Shading: Nil
- Sheen: Nil
- Feathering: A Lot
- Bleedthrough: Some
This ink left a very faint line of colour residue in the pen barrel, easily removed using a pen flush.

Writing Sample
This was written with a TWSBI ECO-T medium nib.

Below are a couple of photos of how it looks when it was written on both sides of the paper.
