Ink
In 2019, the Fountain Pens UK Facebook group collaborated with Diamine to create two inks, Scribble Purple and Monboddo’s Hat. The inks are named after Scribble Monboddo, a purple ink lover who runs the Too Many Purples blog. Monboddo’s Hat is a ink colour inspired by Scribble Monboddo’s purple top hat.
The ink is a saturated dark purple with red undertones with a wet flow. At no surprise to anyone, it has the most sheen on Tomoe River paper. The official description calls it a gold sheen but it looks a little greenish to me.
On Muji Planting Tree paper,
- Shading: Little
- Sheen: Nil
- Feathering: Some
- Bleedthrough: Very Little

The ink left a ring of colour residue behind so cleaning is more involved than usual.

This was written with a TWSBI ECO-T medium nib.

Below are a couple of photos of how it looks when it was written on both sides of the paper.
