Taccia Classic Blue Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Dark Washed Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is an unsaturated mid-range blue with shading and no sheen. I didn’t notice any feathering or bleedthrough on Rhodia paper. I think the shade of blue matches the colour of blue jeans. Bravo to Taccia for nailing the colour so accurately.

Taccia Light Washed Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Light Washed Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is a light, unsaturated blue with shading and no sheen. This is the second lightest ink in the Taccia Jeans ink series. It is readable but not a shade of blue that I like for writing. There is no feathering and bleedthrough on Rhodia paper.

Taccia Grey Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Grey Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is a pale blue-grey with an average flow and some shading. I feel this is pretty accurate to the colour that was seen on some types of jeans. However I find it too light to read comfortably.

Taccia Black Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Black Jeans ink from the collection.

This is a black ink which shades from dark grey to black. I do like my black inks to be dark and black. I tried to see if there was sheen in the writing, like the other inks in the Jeans collection. However, the ink was so dark that it was hard to tell whether there was any sheen.

Ferris Wheel Press Pink Eraser on Rhodia

Ink

Ferris Wheel Press Pink Eraser is a lovely pink colour that does resembles the colour of pink erasers. It has shading and no sheen. I don’t like the dry flow of the ink which can cause the pen to feel scratchy on certain papers.

Taccia Dark Washed Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Dark Washed Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is a dark blue / blue-black colour with shading and displays a noticeable red sheen on some papers. There is shading but no sheen on Rhodia paper. The ink has a wet flow. I noticed two tiny spots where it bleedthrough on Rhodia.

The ink takes a little more effort to clean as it leaves a bit of colour residue behind. I was not able to flush it away with water and had to use a cotton bud to gently scrub it away.

Rings of colour residue left behind in the pen body

This ink colour makes me think of a bruise. But not just an ordinary bruise, but a magnificent one ranging from deep purple to a blue so dark that it looked almost black. Because of its sheening properties, I think the ink will look good in a wet nib.

Monteverde Fireopal on Rhodia

Ink

Monteverde Fireopal is a fiery orange. The ink has an average flow. At first glance, it looks similar to Vinta Terracotta, but on closer inspection, there are differences in the shade and saturation. The colour makes me think of a fiery sunset.

Taccia Navy Blue Jeans on Rhodia

Ink

In 2020, Taccia launched the Jeans collection, a range of inks inspired by the colour of jeans. This is the Navy Blue Jeans ink from the collection.

The ink is a medium shade of blue with a slight teal undertone. The ink has a wet flow and I enjoy writing with it. On Rhodia, it has shading and no sheen. I think this is a lovely shade of blue that really resembles the colour of blue denim.

Monteverde Garnet on Rhodia

Ink

Monteverde Garnet is a lovely magenta with some shading. Like the rest of the Monteverde inks I’ve written with, it flows smoothly and I didn’t experience any problems with the ink.

Van Dieman’s Apricot on Rhodia

Ink

Apricot is from Van Dieman’s Harvest series which celebrates the colourful produce grown in Tasmania.

The ink is a pale orange that makes me think about pastoral sunsets and babies. I find this ink just about readable and obviously is more readable on white paper than cream-coloured paper. It shades well. However the high contrast between the light and dark areas can be distracting and hinders readability.
